VELOCITY Finale

 

The final event of VELOCITY with Ludus Dance. Participants registered their interest and received details of how, using their mobile phone, they could participate in or watch a new piece of dance on trains and stations along the VELOCITY route, finishing in Lancaster for the bonfire night celebrations at 8pm.

Participants used their mobile phones to capture videos and photos of the performances, which you can see online now.

The all-singing all-dancing end to the festival was a collaboration between Lancaster-based organisations Ludus Dance and folly. The travelling performance brightened up journeys between Lancaster and Barrow-in-Furness, and all along the train route, including Ulverston, Carnforth and Grange-over-Sands.

The dancers left Lancaster on the 16:06, adding to their number all along the route and arriving in Barrow at 17:09. After a dance in the gallery at Art Gene (and refreshments) they were off again on the 18:14, arriving in Lancaster at 19:17 and boogieing their way up to the Bonfire Night fireworks celebrations at Lancaster Castle at 8 o'clock.
