A Walk from A-Z at Lancaster Library
Thursday, 18th March, 5.00pm-7.00pm FREE
During the first week of the AND festival, in Lancaster, join Radar artist-in-residence Jennie Savage for the launch of an audio walk, exploring the new and multiple uses of the library building as it searches for its identity in the digital age, the radical roots of the original library movement, and its relation to the city.
This project is part of Radar, a digital artists’ residency scheme led by folly and Lancashire County Libraries and Information Service. Through collaborative arts activities and experiences the scheme will consider the role of libraries as free and accessible public gateways to culture, and the implications of the evolution of digital culture on this core function.
A Walk from A-Z is also available to download from the folly website as an mp3 - go to www.folly.co.uk/a-z, or pop into Lancaster Library at any time to pick up a map and borrow an mp3 player.
