Freeware

Unlike Sharewarei (which only offers a free trial period), Freewarei is software which you may download for free for an indefinite period. It is true to say that many examples of Freeware software are as good as or better than the commercial alternatives.  Freeware only denotes that there is no financial cost for the software, as opposed to 'Free Software' which denotes that the software is unencumbered with certain usage and distribution restrictions.
