digi_club at More Music in Morecambe
digi_club is folly’s digital youth club for young people aged between 12 and 16. It aims to encourage young people to take part in digital art. digi_club will increase the skills of young people and encourage them to think more creatively about their use of new technology through a programme of workshops, online activities and facilitated forums in order to encourage young talent to thrive.
Young people aged 12-16 can join up and engage with digi_club online now at www.digi.org.uk
There will be two digi_club workshops in June at The Hothouse, More Music's venue in Morecambe:
Digital Animation Saturday 2nd June, 10am – 3pm
Ever wanted to learn how to create your own animations? This workshop will show you how to download and use free software to do just that. Develop your own designs and then transform them into digital animation, with artist Nicola McGovern.
Create Your Own Pocket Movie, Saturday 30th June, 10am – 3pm
You'll take part in a practical crash course in movie-making with a mobile phone, before heading out to shoot your own mini-masterpiece. Then you'll learn the basics of editing using your footage. We provide the phones and laptops, you provide the ideas! Led by Phil Powell of Cumbria Filmmakers Network.
digi_club workshops are open to anyone aged between 12 and 16. Places are free but limited - please book your place by contacting Jennifer Stoddart at folly by email on jennifer.stoddart 'at' folly.co.uk or phone 01524 388550.
