What is Chewy?
asciiii Chewy is an emotive life form and improvisational comic strip that lives in your browseri. His behaviour is loosely inspired by the misadventures of his creator Jason Van Anden's very cute Brussels Griffon puppy, Chewy. The artist has used "ascii art" to recreate his pet's personality. ascii Chewy is a pet that can live online forever and is infinitely reproducible, you can even "adopt" your own Chewy for your own website!

What can we do with him?
Chewy exists on his owner's website. You can play with him using your mouse.  Like all puppies he wants attention - watch him get excited as you show him a ball, or play up when he thinks you're ignoring him. Chewy may just be made of standard characters you can find on your keyboard, but he is guaranteed to enchant you with his surprising behaviour.

Who is the artist?
Jason Van Anden is an artist and inventor who seeks to reconcile human emotion, intelligence and free will through art. Other recent works are a pair of emotive robots named Neil and Iona and an online video game called Farklempt! His creations are exhibited internationally and have received recognition and support by the art, science, gaming and technology communities.
