ArtCast is folly's new ongoing series of podcastingi programmes - a platformi for public access to new and innovative art.
ArtCasts are released in sets at regular intervals throughout the year. The first set was released during the VELOCITY festival of digitali culture. folly invited Sonic Arts Network to join us in the selection of podcasts from an international open call.
The podcasts, chosen to complement the VELOCITY experience, can be downloaded to your mp3 player and enjoyed from the comfort of your own home, during train journeys around the Morecambe Bay area, or at any other location in the world. Hear submissions from artists working with sound, experimental musicians and composers, writers and performance artists, both locally and from across the world.
You can listen direct from this page using the play buttons next to each track. You'll need to have Adobe Flashplayer installed.
Or...
You can subscribe to the podcasti so that you know every time a new episode becomes available. You'll need some (free) software that can handle podcast subscriptions, such as Juice or iTunes. Whichever software you use there will be a menu item along the lines of 'subscribe to podcast'. Juice has a subscriptions tab for this and iTunes has it on the Advanced menu. You need to copy and paste this podcast link (right click - copy link location or copy shortcuti) into the podcast programme so it knows where to check for new episodes. The audio files will be played in your default media player such as Windows Media player, VLC or iTunes. For Linuxi users a range of audio players are available such as xine and mplayer.
You can also subscribe via iTunes by clicking here.
If you have the free open sourcei player VLC installed you can click on the 'm3u' link below to load the podcast as a playlist.
