It seems that the likes of Facebook have read a rather garbled description of the free software movement and then applied their misunderstanding. Why on earth anyone with good translation skills would want to give their labour free to Facebook is beyond me. I'm not sure whether this is better or worse than Amazon's Mechanical Turk scheme. Amazon pretend that you're going to earn something worth having, while Facebook are somewhat more up front that they're ripping you off. It's a race to the bottom in the Web 2.0 world.
