folly and More Music are pleased to host a 2007 TEN3 music video festival film night at the Hothouse in Morecambe this Saturday. This annual showcase for independent music videos will feature the best and most exciting offerings from unsigned musicians and new filmmakers. Don't miss this exciting film night with videos from acts such as The KBC, Section 25, Fingathing, 747s and The Wombats.

This film night - thanks to folly and More Music - is the only free night in a series that is touring to Liverpool, Preston, Manchester and Blackpool. So get down to the Hothouse on Saturday May 19th at 7.30pm and for more info check out Ten3's MySpace

Pleix film night

An evening of short films from Pleix, the anonymous Paris-based collective of musicians, video editors, graphic designers and 3D artists. Formed in 2001, expect surreal unexpected imagery including flying dogs, imaginary cities, plastic surgery and infant automata.

digi_club at More Music in Morecambe

digi_club is folly’s digital youth club for young people aged between 12 and 16. It aims to encourage young people to take part in digital art. digi_club will increase the skills of young people and encourage them to think more creatively about their use of new technology through a programme of workshops, online activities and facilitated forums in order to encourage young talent to thrive.

There will be two digi_club workshops in June at The Hothouse, More Music's venue in Morecambe.

Morecambe Road School Arts Week

folly will install a temporary exhibition of digital art work at Morecambe Road School as part of their arts week.

Using work showcased at the recent follyplay event at the Lanternhouse, Ulverston, folly’s installation will allow pupils to journey into cyberspace, where they will encounter and manipulate strange digitally created creatures. The exhibition includes presentations of web-based work by artists Jeffrey Traer Bernstein, David Boardman and Michael Chang.

The bus will be parked outside the Harris Museum and Art Gallery, Market Square, Preston from 10am-4pm. Come along and experience some interactive digital art and find out about folly's programme of events and online activities.

The exhibition includes a selection of work from the 2006 f.city Festival of Digital Culture, by artists Gavin Bailey and Tom Corby, Jaygo Bloom and boredomresearch. The launch coincides with Skerton High School’s Janus Day, which aims to raise aspiration and broaden pupil participation in the arts.
