GNUGNUGNUThe Free Software Foundation’s project which aimed to create a free version on the operating systemi known as Unixi. Development began in 1984 and by 1991 the only thing lacking was the kerneli. The kernel arrived in the form of Linuxi and the GNUi-Linux operating system is now in use. The acronym was coined by Richard Stallman of MIT.  |
