ADSL

ADSL

An Asymmetric Digitali Subscriber Line is a type of DSL – a method of transferring data over copper telephone lines. As the name would suggest, an ASDL differs from a symmetrical DSL in that the upload and download speeds can differ from each other – in other words they are not always symmetrical. As the difference in speed often favors downloading an ADSLi is a poor choice for a useri who frequently uploads information. ADSL is the most common technology used for in the UK for 'home broadbandi' connections, since in general most home users download more information (e.g. reading web pages) than they upload, (e.g. sending out emails).
