HDV

HDV

High Definition Video (HDVi) is the next step up from Mini DVii, which is commonly used in consumer digitali camcorders. Using MPEG-2 compression, HDV can record high-definition images. It uses a native 16:9 widescreen format, with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Compare this to the 4:3 format of Mini DV and the advantage is clear.
