Vigilance - Rich White

11th October - 3rd November 2007

Rich White – ‘Vigilance’, 2007Venue: Unit X & Y, The Mall, Barrow-in-Furness FREE ADMISSION

Vigilance is a site specific installation made from reclaimed and found materials. Its form is derived from the curved bow of the Vigilant, a Vanguard class nuclear submarine built in Barrow-in-Furness. In the work a Vigilant appears to have been dropped onto the building however instead of demolishing it, the building has adjusted itself to accommodate the shape of the hull. The evidence of this can be viewed through the windows of the vacant shop units. This work has been produced as part of FRED 2007
