11th October - 3rd November 2007

A stunning new arts festival, online and all along the coastal rail route around Morecambe Bay.

VELOCITY 2007 is now over, but there's still lots for you to do and see here online. Listen to ArtCast, have fun with follyplay@bebo, enter the Forest of Imagined Beginnings or get soldering with Mark Dixon's online Network workshop.

You can also find out what Martin John Callanan got up to for Location of I, part of the Big Draw 2007, see the results of Jon Adam's Alternative Platform onboard activities, Adam Clarke's Points of Reference and check out the photos and videos of the Finale event with Ludus Dance, submitted by audience members and participants.

folly's YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/follydigitalarts is also home to interviews with artists, footage of More Music Moves, and the Halloween film made at Carnforth Station's pocket movie making activities - A Frantic Shot Torn.

About VELOCITY:

A magical forest where you become a deer; giant computer keys big enough to sit on; scary film treats on Halloween; dancing on trains and a gold locomotive that you drive with your own pedal power…

VELOCITY is like nothing you’ve seen before: an arts festival, a celebration of digital culture, a chance to take part in workshops, activities and performances, and all set in the beautifully sublime landscape around the coastal rail route between Lancaster and Barrow-in-Furness.

VELOCITY tackles important issues, from exploring ideas of landscape, movement and environment to asking questions about surveillance society.

But most of all, VELOCITY is fun: a glorious exploration and celebration of the role of technology in our lives, and a chance for participation as well as inspiration.

VELOCITY is folly's second annual Festival of Digital Culture, building on the success of  f.city in 2006, which reached over 55000 people. folly is a Lancaster-based digital arts organisation, committed to enabling people to explore art through technology, with an emphasis on arts participation online. folly's consultancy arm www.follyconsult.co.uk supplied all the technical equipment used in VELOCITY.
