Support folly
folly is a registered charity listed as The Folly Trust no. 328232
The work of folly meets the Charity Commissions definition of public benefit by delivering on the charitable purpose section f) the advancement of the arts, culture, heritage or science;
folly’s stated intent, see about folly, makes it clear that its artistic programme is for the benefit of the public. It is folly’s goal to make this programme available to as many people as possible from the NW, the UK and beyond.
In particular the work of folly seeks to address new audiences. folly additionally hopes to make this programme available to those for whom access might otherwise be difficult. This includes working in rural areas, working to address issues of digital inclusion as well as a broader approach to diversity.
We seek at all times to ensure that the programme and activities that are on offer are largely free and distributed throughout the region of the NW.
Why Support folly?
At folly we believe that change brought about through the development of new technology is undoubtedly having a profound impact on the world around us. Whilst there are arguments for and against many of these changes it follows that there is an important role for us as individuals to engage with this change.
Typically we are encouraged by society and government to change ourselves through education – we are constantly tasked to learn how to use the new tools of technological change in a bid to make ourselves more useful to society.
It is folly’s belief that we also need urgently to understand how to embrace technological change through creative and cultural thinking. It is through such creative and cultural activities that we are likely to see more significant impact on the broader world around us and crucially more relevance to the individual.

3)Everyclick - online cost free fundraising.
Why be an online fundraiser for Google or Microsoft when you can support a charity of your choice?
Everyclick is a regular search engine that works just like other major search engines, but it also generates cash for charity. It doesn’t cost you or us a penny, so it is a great way to help folly by using it every day.
Join as a fundraiser for folly at Everyclick, make Everyclick your default search engine and home page and raise money every time you search the internet!
4)Volunteer.
Giving the gift of time is a great way to get involved in the work of folly and to feel a part of the action.
All of our projects are dependent upon the support of volunteers. Requirements differ from project to project and over time, but there is usually always something available from a few hours upwards.
Volunteer opportunities are listed on our Opportunities page – otherwise please send an e-mail to enquiries 'at' folly.co.uk.
5)Internships.
You might want to get more involved with folly. An internship is a great way to contribute over a prolonged period, this might be helpful in terms of developing your work experience, your research skills or in understanding how an arts organisation operates.
Internship opportunities are listed on our Opportunities page – otherwise please send an e-mail to enquiries 'at' folly.co.uk.
Making a financial contribution.
Our ethic is one of participation, inclusiveness, learning, production and celebration. We work with people of all ages and from all backgrounds.
Any new source of income to folly is always gratefully received, no matter how small it is. Donations are an especially welcome source of income because:
1)They do not have the normal constraints of restricted income.
2)They are not the result of countless hours of funding application preparation – many of which fail.
3)They demonstrate that we are delivering a meaningful and purposeful programme.
4)They can be used as match finance against other fundraising work.
As an individual you can easily make an online donation to folly today!
Charity Choice offers a secure website, with the option of gift aid. Charity Choice is in association with the Co-operative Bank.
